Yesterday, leaks and rumors about the Linea Airdrop/TGE started spreading on Twitter. Letβs take a look at what we know so far and where it all began π

π Where It All Started
Yesterday, the Twitter account @devil_eth_ shared a screenshot showing the development of a Governance page for the $LINEA token. A day earlier, the same account had posted another screenshot showing the $LINEA symbol, with the address blurred out π΅οΈββοΈ
π£οΈ Comment from the Head of Linea
Normally, this kind of leaked screenshot could be just another fake with no real value. But under one of these tweets, Declan Fox, the Head of Linea, responded π§
He confirmed that development is indeed in progress β but emphasized waiting for official announcements and being careful with scammers β οΈ
𧩠Source of the Leak
Sleuths on Twitter figured out where @devil_eth_ got the screenshots from π΅οΈ
π§ The Governance page for Linea is being developed by a company called Agora
π§ They have previously built similar pages for Optimism, Uniswap, ENS, and others
π In one of Agoraβs GitHub repositories, this file includes the $LINEA token address that was blurred in the leaked screenshot
π This allowed the community to locate test contracts for Governance (view here) and the $LINEA token itself (view here)
π§ On Agoraβs homepage, thereβs a βComing Soonβ banner in their list of current projects π
π More Rumors
A month ago, @devil_eth_ posted another screenshot with the text:
π “Linea Mainnet May 19 2025”
π “Linea Sepolia May 5 2025”
This likely refers to Governance development by Agora. But this does NOT mean that the Linea TGE is confirmed for May 19 β despite what some might think βοΈ
